In the film, as the crew lies in cryogenic stasis for two years, an android named David looks after the ship. As played by Michael Fassbender, he's fastidious, observant, surprisingly blonde, and, maybe, evil. (Spoiler alert! Even after seeing the movie I can't tell you exactly what's up with him.) I can say, however, that it is a remarkable performance and it brings to mind one of sci-fi cinema's great traditions?the evil robot.
